Papa Engine 3D Audio Games Jam

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Workshop 2 of 3.
Workshop continues Saturday 26, 10am-7pm.

To celebrate the release of Papa Sangre II, Papa creators Somethin’ Else are opening up the audio engine that powers the game.  Extraspecially for GameCity; developers, designers and audiophiles have the opportunity to explore the creative and technical possibilities of immersive audio for mobile.

Over course of three days, you will make a game with the Papa Engine, a powerful 3D audio engine that allows you to craft immersive environments and audio experiences in binaural sound, which appears to be coming directionally from round the player’s head.

During the jam you’ll get to know the engine with the help of its engineer and hear about some of the latest developments in audio games.  Alongside this there will be an opportunity to hear from specialists in the field to feed your ideas.

Then build your own game, toy, app or audio experience with the Papa Engine.  Either record your own audio or build an immersive world from existing sound libraries.

Come in a group or ask us to join you with others. Each group will need at least one iOS dev and someone who is comfortable editing sound.

Your handiwork will be showcased in a public playtest on the Saturday at Broadway as part of the closing day of the GameCity festival.
