Stupid and Contagious: Games At The Turn Of An Age

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Gaming and social media culture journalist Leigh Alexander compares the current state of video game culture to similar shifts that happened in music, film, fashion and attitudes between the late 80s and early 90s. Today, games are developing the same focus on individual expression, aversion to capitalist climbing, quest for identity and appetite for feminism as took place in the American 1990s -- and have some of the same problems 1990s youth culture faced as well. Expect music references, lyrics as talking points, and a Spotify playlist for all attendees!
